Classic Beef Lasagna
Layers of tender noodles, slow-simmered beef and sausage ragu, herbed ricotta and bubbling mozzarella.
- Feeds a hungry crowd
- Make-ahead and freezer-friendly
- Tall, clean slices
Every family needs one great lasagna, and this is ours. We simmer a meaty sauce of beef and Italian sausage for 45 minutes so it tastes like it cooked all day, then layer it with a basil-flecked ricotta and plenty of mozzarella. A long rest after baking is the key to clean, tall slices. It feeds a crowd and freezes like a dream.
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the beef and sausage and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, breaking them into small crumbles, until browned with no pink remaining (160 degrees F).
