We are looking for a recipe developer who can create bright, reliable, home-cook-friendly recipes from first idea to final test. You will work closely with our Test Kitchen Director and editors to develop recipes for the recipe club, seasonal collections, and product pages in our kitchen shop.

What you will do

  • Develop, write, and test 8 to 12 original recipes per month across a wide range of categories and skill levels
  • Retest recipes from freelance contributors and document adjustments, timing, and doneness cues
  • Write clear, accurate ingredient lists, steps, tips, and headnotes that match our house style
  • Estimate yields, prep and cook times, and work with editors on nutrition information
  • Prepare food for photo and video shoots and help style finished dishes
  • Test cookware and tools for the kitchen shop and share hands-on feedback with the product team
  • Keep the test kitchen organized, stocked, and in line with food safety standards

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience in recipe development, test kitchen work, or professional cooking
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, baking fundamentals, and food safety
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail in measurements and instructions
  • Ability to adapt recipes for common dietary needs such as vegetarian and gluten-free
  • Comfortable working on your feet and lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work on site in our New York test kitchen at least three days per week

Nice to have

  • Culinary school training or equivalent professional kitchen experience

  • Conduct keyword and topic research to shape the editorial calendar
