South Beach Recipes is a small team of cooks, editors and gear nerds who believe great home cooking should feel as easy as a beach day.
How we work
Tested until it is right, not until it is done
We started South Beach Recipes after one too many recipes from the internet that looked great and cooked badly. So we built a test kitchen and a simple rule: nothing gets published until three different cooks have made it successfully from the written recipe alone.
Our flavors lean sunny: citrus, fresh herbs, Cuban and Caribbean classics, bright seafood and big salads. But the library covers everything a home kitchen needs, from Sunday pot roast to banana bread.
The shop follows the same rule. Every pan, knife and gadget we sell is used in our kitchen first. If it does not earn a permanent spot on our counters, it does not go in the shop.

Marisol Brandt
Founder & Editor-in-Chief
Marisol Brandt founded South Beach Recipes after a decade of writing about food and hosting supper clubs for friends and neighbors. Raised in a big family where Sunday lunch stretched well into the evening, she learned early that good cooking is about generosity as much as technique. Before launching the site, she worked as a food editor and taught weeknight cooking classes to busy home cooks. Today she sets the editorial direction for the recipe club, oversees every story that runs on the site, and still reads reader questions herself each week. Her philosophy is simple: recipes should be bright, reliable, and realistic for real kitchens. When she is not editing, she is usually hosting a backyard dinner with far too much citrus on the table.

Theo Castellanos
Test Kitchen Director
Theo Castellanos leads the South Beach Recipes test kitchen, where every recipe is cooked, tasted, and retested before it reaches members. He trained as a professional cook and spent twelve years in busy restaurant kitchens, from seafood grills to hotel pastry stations, before moving into recipe development. Theo is known on the team for his devotion to precision: he weighs his flour, checks oven temperatures with a separate thermometer, and will bake a cookie six times to get the texture just right. He also believes home cooks deserve clear explanations, not just instructions, so his recipes always explain why a step matters. Outside the kitchen, he spends weekends fishing and is happiest standing over a hot grill.

Priya Lindqvist
Shop & Product Lead
Priya Lindqvist oversees the South Beach Recipes kitchen shop, choosing every pan, knife, and tool the company sells. With a background in product design and more than eight years in kitchenware sourcing and retail, she approaches gear with a tester's healthy skepticism. Every item in the shop is used for weeks in the test kitchen before it earns a place on the shelf, and Priya personally reviews it for durability, comfort, and ease of cleaning. She is also the team's go-to expert on caring for cookware, from seasoning cast iron to keeping knives sharp. Priya believes a small set of well-made tools beats a crowded drawer of gadgets. At home, she cooks for a family of four and keeps a famously organized pantry.
