Swedish Meatballs
Tender beef and pork meatballs warmly spiced with allspice and nutmeg, simmered in a silky brown cream gravy.
- Warmly spiced meatballs
- Silky cream gravy
- Freezer-friendly batch
Swedish meatballs are small, soft and gently spiced, and their creamy brown gravy is pure comfort. A mix of beef and pork gives the best flavor and texture, while a milk-soaked panade and grated onion keep them tender. We brown them in butter, then build the gravy in the same skillet to capture all that flavor. Serve them the classic way with mashed potatoes, a spoonful of lingonberry jam and quick pickled cucumbers.
Instructions
In a large bowl, stir the panko and milk together and let sit for 5 minutes until the crumbs are soft.
