Smothered Pork Chops
Bone-in pork chops browned in a seasoned flour crust, then simmered until tender in a rich caramelized onion gravy.
- Rich caramelized onion gravy
- Southern comfort classic
- Tender bone-in chops
Smothered pork chops are Southern comfort food at its finest, with juicy chops tucked under a blanket of savory onion gravy. A seasoned flour dredge gives the chops a golden crust and helps thicken the gravy as they simmer. Slowly cooked onions add sweetness and depth, and a splash of cream makes the sauce velvety. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes so none of that gravy goes to waste.
Instructions
Pat the pork chops dry. Mix 1 tsp salt with the pepper, garlic powder and paprika and season both sides of the chops.
