About this piece
End-grain boards are made by gluing together blocks of wood with the fibers pointing up, like a bundle of straws. Your knife edge slips between those fibers instead of slicing across them, which keeps blades sharper longer and helps knife marks close back up over time.
The Driftwood board is cut from dense acacia in a warm checkerboard pattern and is a generous 1.5 inches thick, so it does not slide around or warp. A deep juice groove on one side catches drippings from roast chicken or juicy watermelon, while the flat reverse side works as a serving surface for cheese and fruit.
